We had a wonderful {Fall} vacation to Florida! Some great tailgating (although it was a horrible game), great family time, great time with friends, and a magical day at The Magic Kingdom! Mid-October at Disney is wonderful, we didn’t have to wait more than 10-15 for any ride and only 5 minutes to meet the princesses! I should have kept an “oooooo” tracker for the day from my 2.5 year old! I even finally finished a sewing project I had been working on just for the trip! Have you ever seen these camera strap covers from *Shey*[B]? They are BANANAS!! Her designs range the spectrum from over the top beautiful to something even my husband wouldn’t mind wearing around his neck. Since I am the owner of a new sewing machine I thought I would take a stab at creating my own, knowing that it would never be as great as those designs but it would be my own and something to be proud of. So I went looking for tutorials and found a couple great ones (my go to for tutorials Prudent Baby and always my 2nd stop Make It and Love It) however I wanted mine to be 2 sided and work with some Minky Dot to add some comfort to carrying around those heavy DSLR cameras. So using both of their tutorials as a jumping off point I measured and remeasured my camera strap and came up with the measurements I wanted and cut my material. I had never worked with Minky before and being a new sewer it was a little tricky but I finally figured out I just needed a longer stitch and I was good to go! So here it is, I really love how it turned out and even my husband thought it was really cool! I think they would be a great Christmas present for a couple people I know…better get started soon!

I am just dropping by from Tatertots and Jello and I just wanted to tell you how cute that turned out! I love your fabric choices. If only I had a camera that needed one of those!
