With a pattern that is 🙂
After seeing these beauties on Girl. Inspired. I was truly inspired to try it out! I had been wanting to make an Amy Butler Gum Drop Pillow since before I had a sewing machine, so I ordered the pattern. Then I had to find fabrics that I liked. There are SO SO SO many amazing fabrics out there and I ended up going with Dena Designs Tea Garden collection. I love the fabrics, however, they just don’t go with anything in our house, I don’t know what I was thinking. So I guess I am stuck with this one unless I can find a way to give/sell it to someone (without shipping). Back to the story… So cutting out the fabric was a bit monotonous to me, it’s 8 of the exact same piece, which was easy just a little boring (I came up with a shortcut to their directions). I did get to put my brand new (well my hubs got them for me as a Hanukkah gift) scissors to good use though, so that was really exciting! I must say that this was a pretty easy sewing project! The pattern takes 10 – 12oz bags of poly-fill but Walmart sells 50 oz bags for the price of 3-12oz bags, so the filling didn’t turn out to be that bad. I will definitely be making another one of these, but probably the 18″ size next time instead of the 24″!
I almost forgot to tell you, I even had to learn to do a little hand sewing to close this baby up, just a slip stitch, but I had to watch this video in order to learn!
I am sure just 1 picture would have done, but I had to show you my cute model (this is now in her room, she’s in love with it, too bad it doesn’t match!!!)
