Ugh, my craft room & office could probably qualify for Federal Disaster Relief! Maybe I could get myself a FEMA trailer, although I doubt our home owners association would look kindly on that. So, until that money comes rolling in from the government I guess I need to do something about all this mess myself. I think my problem (besides being a craft hoarder) is that I can’t decide on what the best WORKING way to organize is. What is going to help me see everything I have so I don’t buy duplicates? What is going to make it easy to get to everything? And, what is going to help get my creative juices flowing? I don’t have answers to any of these questions so leave me a comment and let me know what works for you.
In the mean time here is what I’ve done so far…
So that’s just the itty bitty start to my project. I feel like I may be buried alive by a mountain of craft supplies. If you don’t hear from me in the next 24 hours, send in the rescue squad.

If you figure this out, please let me know. I have so much “stuff” that I don’t want to get rid of because I will be teaching next year and can probably use alot of it. But in the meantime…

I’m in that process too. I just got my photos organized (http://btanders.blogspot.com/2011/08/photo-storage-solution.html). Good luck!

I need to get some organization going on. I have nothing going over here.

I feel the SAME way! I would be sooo embarrassed to show anyone my craft”door” desk!

I feel like I get my room organized, I do a project (get interupted 5 million times by husband, crying baby, cat being out of food, helpful 3 year old, random phone calls, my favorite TV show being on and no TV in craft room), then I leave the room and it’s a pit again!
I am working on having just STORAGE. I have all of my ribbon on my wall, because I use it all the time and I just got another bookcase to put up so I can store little things and books (scrapbook, pattern, etc.)
My best friend right now is baskets from Dollar Tree.

I’m a list maker…for everything. You could make lists of things you have and categorize them. That way it could be at your finger tips and you can keep track of what you have in stock or what you are out of.

I think “most” of us crafters are in the same dilemna – especially if you dabble in a lot of different crafts – I’m ALWAYS going to get organised, but usually end up using any free time that could be used for organising for crafting, he he
Enjoy, and then come to my place, please?

My craft room has gotten so bad I’ve been avoiding it lately! I still haven’t figured out a good way to store my ribbon either!

I haven’t gotten to scrapbbok paper yet, but maybe you would like what I did with ribbons- http://sunla-designs.blogspot.com/2011/08/mess-management-monday-craft-room.html
or fabric- http://sunla-designs.blogspot.com/2011/08/mess-management-monday-craft-room_08.html

I saw your blog on Tater Tots and Jello and have been in a organizing mood myself lately. I see you are from Charlotte, NC – I’m in near by SC.
