Your eyes are not fooling you, the title of this post is “A {Fabric} Wreath” not “A {Ribbon} Wreath”! I can hardly believe it myself, but it is true, I made a wreath and used (almost) no ribbon! The amazingly talented Kate Landers had a post on Facebook one day asking for handmade partywares people to help with a party and so I answered the call and submitted a couple photos of my wreaths and topiaries to her. Turns out, it wasn’t just for any party, it was for her very own Baby Shower! I was thrilled to be asked to help on such a wonderful and memorable event, I still remember the details from my first baby shower – it is a party you never forget! After a string of collaborative emails I ventured out of my comfort zone and came up with this beautiful wreath made from a diamond quilted pique type of fabric that I found on my fabric outing to Mary Jo’s Fabric that I previously posted about. I was thrilled with the outcome and was even more pleased by Kate’s response to the wreath. I am excited to say that the wreath is hanging on the nursery door waiting to welcome Kate’s little boy home when he arrives!

If you haven’t seen the entire baby shower, it was recently featured on Layla Grace (EEK!!! Something I made was actually on Layla Grace, I still can’t quite believe it myself!) Jenny from Crossing the Bugger-Dixon Line and Christy from Inspired Design, along with Kate herself, put together a baby shower that is almost too sweet for words. It was all inspired by a diaper bag from my favorite line from Petunia Pickle Bottom, the Cake Collection!
Thank you Kate for letting me be a small part of your special day!

I still can’t believe that was your first fabric wreath, it was stunning and tied into the shower scheme oh so *perfectly* to welcome Kate’s guests!
Love this! Are you going to post the instructions for the fabric wreath? How can we create one for ourselves?
