I am pretty sure most of us have very fond memories of The Muppet Show, Muppet Babies, and the various Muppet movies from our childhood. And maybe like me, you were so excited when you heard there was a new Muppet movie coming out so that you could now share that fondness with your own children. When The Muppets came out in the theatre I took my daughter to go see it and she was instantly in love with Kermit, Miss Piggy and the gang. She asked me if it was ok if she got up and danced in the aisle even. So I knew that when the movie came out on DVD it would be so much fun to have a bunch of her besties come over and watch a special “premiere” while the adults had a fun little brunch. I bought the DVD on pre-sale at the Disney Store which included the Muppet prints you see used in the decor. I am also very fortunate to have a friend who works in the candy industry who was able to send me some goodies including the Muppet Pez that are on the concession table. The kids LOVED the Muppet Pez but I also sent them home with a packet full of Muppet stickers & tattoos and a hand sewn Muppet pillow case fitted for a travel size pillow I found at WalMart!
In true Stacy style, I, of course, forgot to take photos of the fun mini pancake kebabs and other goodies, but that’s what happens when you are hosting a real party and want to serve fresh food. I will tell you they were a hit and the first thing to disappear from the table (along with the hot sausage gravy).
The invitation I designed for the party. |
The store bought buffet items that didn’t need to be hot |
The adult beverage station |
The coffee and hot cocoa station. Thank you Jenny from Crossing the Bugger Dixon Line for the great idea to use my ruffled crepe streamers on my coffee cups. |
Dollar Tree spoons and forks I enameled with spray enamel (dipping enamel comes is VERY limited color range) |
Mini donut cake is the way to go at 10:30 in the morning! |
Regular sized donuts are great, too! |
Real butter croissants for the chicken salad (from Costco) |
Mini cinnamon rolls that were going to be placed on sticks – but that wasn’t working so this was plan B, still just as tasty! |
Apple juice in little containers that just happen to mimic Kermit’s collar 🙂 |
Note to self – buy more champagne next time, Mimosas were first to go followed by 3 bottles of Bloody Mary Mix. |
For the first time in the history of my parties everyone actually used their paper straws! They’re are just for decoration! |
Paper daisy fans from Polka Dot Market. |
Love the new polka dot paper fan option at Polka Dot Market. |
The Concession Stand – it looks like some little hands were trying to get at the Pez before I could take my pictures! |
Cute tin lunch box was found at Old Navy! |
All of these items were a huge hit with the kids! |
I am totally smitten with these shimmery gumballs from Polka Dot Market. They really add a touch of something special to your goodie table! I placed them with some dark purple gumballs bought at Party City and placed them in little nut cups I purchased from a deal a day type site last year. |
So that’s about it from the Mahna Mahna Muppet Viewing Party! Have you ever hosted a special movie screening at your house? I totally recommend it. It was a great for both the parents and children!
