If you haven’t ever made FOE (fold over elastic) hair ties don’t worry! They couldn’t be easier or cheaper to make.
Supplies:
- Fold Over Elastic – found at your larger fabric stores or online – around $1/yd or less
- Scissors
- 1″ Bookrings
- Hole punch
- Free printable tag – download here
Instructions:
- Cut FOE to 10″ length
- Tie knot in the end (sort of like tying a balloon closed)
- Punch hole in corner of tag
- Open book ring, slide everything in and close the book ring
- Make money (or give to friends)
Since you can make about 3 ties out of each yard of FOE this entire project will cost you about $1 and some change for the book ring which can be bought at any office supply store.
The colors and patterns available in fold over elastic are pretty much endless.

Hi Stacy – This is so wonderful of you to do this. As a BC Survivor, it really means a lot to see this kind of support. Would love for you to link up at my Pinktastic BC Awareness party going on.
