For supplies I used fillable plastic pancake shaped ornaments that I found at Walmart for $0.88 (SCORE!!), poly-fil to fill the girls ornaments, legos to fill the boy ornament, and vinyl decals I cut with my Silhouette Cameo. Silhouette has some of the best deals EVER on their machines and accessories right now just use the coupon code KINDA at check out – more details below.
I like the flatter, pancake shape for personalized ornaments because they pose less of an issue when applying you vinyl than the traditional round ones. The round ones are great for hand painting!
After applying the decal to hopefully the center of the ornament you just fill the inside with the poly beads, replace the cap and top it all off with a bow!
I love this polka dot vinyl that I’ve been hoarding in my vinyl stash for the last year or so. It’s perfect for this preppy Christmas themed ornament.
Even little boys need in on the personalized ornaments. This one has the name and year on the back and is tied with a simple navy blue chevron ribbon to keep it masculine, yet still preppy.
And what LEGO loving boy wouldn’t want his very own personalized LEGO filled ornament! Just shove a handful of LEGO bricks in the ornament and replace the cap. It would be really fun to put LEGO mini-figs in there as well.
I simply tied a little coordinating twine to each ornament so they would be ready to hang straight out of the box.

That Lego ornament is adorable, I’ve got a 2 year old that would totally get a kick out of that!

I love decorating the clear glass ornaments. I haven’t used plastic, but will definitely get some for kids’ ornaments! I would like to know what font you used on the polka-dot ornament. Thanks so much for sharing your instructions. I will definitely bookmark your blog!

Hi MaryJo,
I believe it was the actually monogram letters from the Silhouette store and not a font but you could definitely try KK Monogram from dafont.com – you might have to use the offset set to 0.05 to thicken the lines a bit.
